2017 Laurie Flood Scholarship Informal Instructions
Laurie Flood Scholarship Applications will be accepted by U.S. Mail.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL CORRESPONDENCES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY
September 7th, 2017. AFTER RECEIPT OF THE APPLICATIONS THE LFS COMMITTEE WILL REVIEW AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS.
Also, applications are considered from SFCA member’s students every other year, not annually.
Applicants are evaluated by South Florida Claims Association –Laurie Flood Scholarship Committee (A five member committee including the chairman and standing president of the association) and scholarships awarded according to the following criteria:
▪ Official Academic Transcripts – High School and College
▪ SAT or ACT scores
▪ Participation in school, community and honors activities
▪ 500 word essay concerning further education and career goals
▪ Academic and Personal Recommendations
▪ Name all other scholarship awards
Applicants must be the child of a current registered member of the South Florida Claims Association. Applicants must be age 16-25 and may be high school seniors, high school graduate, college students or technical/vocational students. Stepchildren must reside with a current registered member of the South Florida Claims Association or at a college campus.
